Centerhalf of SimbaSc Method Mwanjale has been elected the best player in December of the Vodacom League for the 2016/2017 season.
Central defender, he defeated link Yanga striker, Yakubu Haruna Niyonzima and defender Mohamed Azam FC. In December was played three rounds of the league, while the Lions playing two games away and one at home. These rounds are 16, 17 and 18.
Anjali led Simba to win all three games, so his team victory 100 percent to grab nine points, and remain in their former positions in the League, a position they had when they entered the round of 16.
Also in the third round where the Lions were not bound to a single goal, Anjali played all 270 minutes, and without any card displayed. Contributing significantly to the success of his team as he led the defense.
By winning the award for the best player, Anjali will be awarded a prize of sh. 1,000,000 (one million) and the main sponsor of the Premier mobile phone company Vodacom Tanzania.
Other players who have won the award for the best player of the 2016/2017 season so far is John Raphael Bocco of Azam (August), Shiza Ramadhan Kichuya Lion (September), Simon Happygod Msuva Yanga (October), and Rifati Hamisi of Ndanda (Nov. ).
